1940's USMC P-47 HBT JACKET

Description:

First seen during World War II, P-47 jackets were worn by USMC soldier in the late 1940s. They were constructed from herringbone twill (HBT) fabric, which has a very distinctive weave pattern.

This particular piece has visible EGA and name “A.P.MEUTI” stenciled on/above the left chest. This name is also stenciled on the back of the jacket along with handwritten writing of “CLEVELAND,OHIO 1094428”. The sleeves feature stenciled/hand-drawn rank. There are normal signs of wear including holes and discoloration. All of the original buttons are present.

Measurements:

a. Shoulder - 19.5”

b. Chest - 22”

c. Length - 28.5”

d. Sleeve - 22.5”

This item fits men’s medium in modern sizing.
